We can now reveal another specially brewed Festival Special - Siddy's Outswinger!Ryan Sidebottom 1

This years fourth Festival Special is brewed by our new sponsors at Kirkstall Brewery. The ale’s been created in honour of Ryan ‘Siddy’ Sidebottom - the Yorkshire born Cricketer who grew into a prolific bowler for England.

A unique pale hoppy bitter from a brand new brewery in Leeds who have already started winning beer of the festival awards.

Having sampled the ale, we look forward to seeing Ryan at the Festival!Ryan and committee

Calendar Girl

Christine-pump200Christine-team200Christine Talbot of YTV's Calendar programme has launched her own festival special ale - aptly named Calendar Girl. It is being brewed by the Yorkshire real ale specialists, Elland Brewery.

It is a special, one off, golden coloured bitter with a crisp citrus hop flavour and aroma and a refreshing hoppy finish.

Committee members needed to taste it of course.

Save the Pub Group backs Festival

Save the Pub logosmallWe are delighted and proud that the all-party parliamentary "Save the Pub Group" are sponsoring a special Festival Ale brewed by Ilkley Brewery.

Greg Mulholland MP, who attended last year's event and is Chair of the Group, has recently reported:

‘In the last Parliament the Save the Pub Group was successful in persuading the Government to take seriously the threats facing Britain’s pubs. The Group will build on this success in the new Parliament by effective campaigning on a whole range of issues including beer taxation, planning law, and reform of the beer tie.
‘Early priorities for the Group include maintaining progress on reform of the beer tie, working with the new Government on the Decentralisation and Localism Bill which will introduce a Community Right to Buy for pubs threatened with closure and the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill which will ban the below cost sale of alcohol.’

The first Festival Ale Sponsor
